Who I would vote for in the upcoming City Elections

I will have a future post with my predictions on who I think will win each race after the campaign finance reports come out.

Here is who I would support in each race:

Mayor
I support Matt Kelty (R)

1st District City Council
I support Byron Peters (L)
(Note, Councilman Smith (R) is a close second)

2nd District City Council
This is the toughest race in the City other then the at-large race.
I support Jon Bartels (L)
(Note, Karen Goldner has ran a great race and has ran the best campaign by a large margin; I almost decided to vote for Karen over Jon)

3rd District City Council
I support Councilman Didier (R)

4th District City Council
I support Mitch Harper (R)

5th District City Council
I support Robert Fuller (L)

6th District City Council
I support Robert Enders (L)

City Council at Large
I support Councilman Shoaff (D)
I support Doug Horner (L)
I support William Larsen (L)

The City Clerks race is uncontested.

So out of the ten contested races I support:
One Democrat
Three Republicans
Six Libertarians

I have NEVER voted a "straight party ticket" in my life and I doubt that I ever will. I always vote based on the candidate not based on their Party.

Who are you planning on voting for on November 6th?

Mike Sylvester

Only three of the above names will win.

I tend to agree with you; however, I vote for the best candidate not the person I think will win...

Scott,

Why are you supporting H. Square's biggest opponent. Bender supports H. Square.

On an unrelated note, am I the only person who visits Fort Wayne Observed every day hoping to see anything just ANYTHING remotely interesting?

Harrison Square will start construction at the end of the month.

It doesn't really matter to me at this point that Shoaff was an opponent. It matters to me that he will be a strong advocate for future downtown development and historic preservation.

He is logical, well-read, and a great voice to have on Council.

Scott,

I happen to agree with you on Shoaff. Maybe not the best speakers but the one with some of the best questions and reasoning.

I'm supporting Fuller. He has alot of support in the 5th. He's one of here. We work hard and like our council to speak for us which we haven't got with Pape. Election day is going to be interesting here in the 5th. He just might upset Pape. He is pretty popular around here. Fuller came to our homes and actually listened. My only complaint is he doesnt post much. He is great people person. I suggest to everyone email him you will like what he has to say.

Fuller is impressive and turning heads. Im in agreement. Pape might be upset.

Fuller has walked his entire district once already and told me personally he plans to make his rounds again before election day. He relates with the 5th District more than Pape could ever hope to.

Fuller has also been endorsed by at least two organizations that I know of.

If he had the money that Pape did then he would have even more of a chance.

im hearing alot about fuller. 3 months ago. i didnt think he stood a chance. now im not sure. everyone i talk to in the district is voting for him. that says a lot i wish fuller luck.

I met Fuller for the first time the other night and shared a beer with him at JKOs. I think he's a nice guy who is genuinely concerned about some of the problems in his district. Regardless of how well he does in the election, the 5th district will be better served if people like Fuller stay active in their community...

Why are we talking about Fuller. Arent there other people running in the fifth. No offense to anyone. I didnt think a libertarian stood a chance. Im in disbelief over the amount of support Fuller does have. I dont think he will beat Mr. Pape though. I do have to say if a libertarian does win. It will be in the fifth. This is their best chance to get into office they picked a good person he relates well to the people. It could honestly be an upset. I guess we find out in few weeks. Im Supporting Mr. Pape. I have called Mr Pape and tried to explain my concerns over Fuller. His campaign is not taking Fuller seriously. Mr. Pape should be worrying. Fullers popularity is growing daily. Should be interestimg
