Recently, I asked Fort Wayne city government why there were no minutes posted on the city's official website for the City Council meetings SINCE APRIL....
I got directed to three different departments and several different people...
Turns out I need to talk to Sandy Kennedy.. NOT the public information officer, NOT the council assistant (the list goes on.... ) I am surprised the people with assist and inform in their job titles don't have answers or control over issues like this. (hear a rant coming on?)
I am curious to know why the minutes haven't been posted.
I will go find her.....

Whether or not they are posted online they must make them available to you:
IC 5-14-1.5-4
(b) As the meeting progresses, the following memoranda shall be kept:
(1) The date, time, and place of the meeting.
(2) The members of the governing body recorded as either present or absent.
(3) The general substance of all matters proposed, discussed, or decided.
(4) A record of all votes taken, by individual members if there is a roll call.
(5) Any additional information required under IC 5-1.5-2-2.5.
(c) The memoranda are to be available within a reasonable period of time after the meeting for the purpose of informing the public of the governing body's proceedings. The minutes, if any, are to be open for public inspection and copying.
Our City Council just doesn't seem to want to follow the rules lately.
The TIF,(the tax increment financing of property tax payers)
map to pay for this Harrison Square project is also
not available. What this means is the redevelopment committee obviously does not want to share
what it will cost to the taxpayers.
When you go to the redevelopment committee and click on their TIF
MAP, well guess what...it does not
exist. So how is the city of Fort Wayne financing this Harrison Square project? Does the DLFG, department of local government in
Indianapolis understand that issuing a bond for this HS project
open this area to further taxes and
debt. It seems the power to ask for these bonds in Fort Wayne rely
on the approval from the DLFG in Indianapolis.
