Kelty beginning to surge at the Fort

The Howey Political Report covers Indiana politics.

Please check out this article on the Fort Wayne Mayor's race:

I think the Kelty/Peters race is pretty much a dead heat. I think that the candidate who has the stronger campaign and "ground game" will most likely win this race.

I have not predicted any of the races yet; however, I plan on starting soon. I think I am going to start with this race...

Kelty has the edge among Republicans, and Peters has the edge among voters at large. So it will boil down to who ends up voting in the primary. In some election years, you can expect a lot of non-Republicans to vote in a GOP primary, which was the case in 2002. In 2002, there was a lot of people who wanted to unseat Douder in the primary. But I'm going to guess that there will not be many people crossing party lines in this primary, because there isn't an incumbent who rubs a lot of people raw in this race.

Kelty 52%
Peters 48%

The democrats will wait for Tom Henry so no, there will not be many crossing party lines. The Libertarians seem to support Kelty.

Peters will be lucky to get 40% of the GOP vote. He's too wishy washy. Who wants John Kerry for Mayor?

Howey is about as uncredible as they come.

He can't ever plagiarize right. He had Bob Morris endorsing Peters in his "story."

I wouldn't say John Kerry. Maybe Gerald Ford or Bush the Elder.

Check that. I forgot about Ivan Hood.

These figures are just off the top of my head. They are as scientific as the Book of Genesis.

Kelty 50%
Peters 47%
Hood 3%
