I have posted a new poll concerning the Republican Primary and the contest for City Council "at-large."
You may vote in this poll once per day. You may vote for multiple candidates.
I am posting this thread due to a request from one of the readers and commenters of this blog!
This is a very interesting contest and has not captured as much attention as I would have expected. All six candidates have unique qualifications and this should be a spirited contest. That being said, I have seen little activity in this race other then yard signs to date.
Please post a comment to this thread telling us who you support and why you support them. Your comment will be much more meaningful if you list your name!
I will be posting predictions for the races and who I think is most qualified for the contested races in the near future...

Mike, whats very interesting about this race (compared to most years) is that every single GOP candidate has a chance to get out of this primary. This is going to be a very tight race. I think J. Crawford will take first by a comfortable margin, but after that, It is going to be a photo finish.
Sam
You can hear all of the at-large candidates along with the Mayoral candidates and candidates for 1st and 2nd District City Council at the Northside Neighborhood Association candidate forum on Monday, April 23 at Northside High School. Meet & greet at 6:30; program begins at 7 p.m. More information at http://nnassoc.org/.
I also think that John Crawford will get the highest vote total out of the Republican candidates.
I think I have decided who I think will be next; however, I want to let other people respond first...
Mike Sylvester
Mike,
6 very good candidates.
If the election were today and I was forced to bet the farm, I would predict:
1. Crawford
2. Brown
3. Bender
I think Liz will benefit from the "Brown" name which is fully saturated because of Bill, and Therese's recent campaigns. Also, as the only woman in the group, this will be worth a few percentage points.
There are several things that could impact this race significantly in April:
1. Endorsements
2. Obviously Adverstising (beyond signage which will be a wash)
3. Door to Door campaigning which is very effective in at large race
4. Election Day execution.
Any candidate will benefit greatly from getting the "double endorsement" of the JG and the NS.
Sam
Yes, last year Geoff Paddock clearly benefited from having those massive billboards, endorsements from the NS, JG, and being the favorite of the Democratic Party's core membership. That is how he got to the Statehouse....
Crawford wouldn't be spending that kind of money in the primary if he wasn't worried.
Since Sam went with those three. I'm going with
Mildred
Morris
Gutman
Me too
Mildred
Morris
Gutman
Oh and I just got done reading today's JG. Tracy Warner has Crawford pegged as the only swing vote for the Harrison Square project. Tell us, Sam, does he have his thumb out to see which way the wind blows or is he waiting until after the primary?
Sorry Mr. Enders, you know much much more about City At-Large races than I do.
Did you not understand the point of my post that at-large races are DIFFERENT than head to head races.
Sam
I do understand that at-large races are different from head to head campaigns. If anything, the nature of an at-large race makes the outcome that much harder to predict. Crawford probably does have the edge but he is not a lock just yet. He is trying very hard to make himself look like a lock by putting up all those very large expensive signs up. The fact is that he has upset a lot of his base.

I've been watching this poll also. Look at Kelty's numbers along with Tom Henry's. Why would the papers even put out a poll like this? Looks like everyone is stacking the deck. AWB - why would you only notice Nelson Peters numbers. What has that man ever done to you. When you mention the polls to Frank Gray, I would suggest you mention all three people who's number rose like they did.
Angry White Boy,
Your own photos show that Matt Kelty's and Tom Henry's numbers were the first to jump sky high. At one point, Kelty was beating Peters with a pretty good lead, where only hours earlier, Nelson had a healthy lead. Now, I'm not accusing you, but you said you had a lot of time on your hands. Are you the one inflating the numbers?
Hey Dan,
Truth hurts and I think I caught you at lying and cheating. This is not over just because you have hacked my computer. How is it that you can redirect my computer to go to Urban Dictionary when I specifically go to your website? Is that legal?
Get a life and quit cheating.
Terri
Really -
AWB is so quick to point fingers, he completely misses the truth of what happened. Mr. Peters has typically carried between 51% and 54% of the vote since the poll began. He is now down to 46%. That's a heck of a way to stack the numbers in ones own favor. Hmmm -
Come on people! I doubt very seriously that any of the candidates had their own hand in this. They are all decent men. Just like missing and ripped up signs, it's not the candidate who goes around doing that, it's their "backers". Little do they know, it doesn't look so good on the candidate. They really aren't helping anyone out when they take the low road.
Sheesh.. you just cannot pay attention can you (Terry). It doesn't matter what the numbers say now after what the boys in Bluffton did, now does it?
What the hell are you talking about?
I am really worried about you- you are not making any sense- not that you ever did.
Terri
Angry White Boy,
You seem to be so concerned about people in Bluffton. I have noticed you have mentioned it a couple of times on here and on your website. However, why would people in Bluffton be supposedly stacking polls and sabotaging the election when they are not Fort Wayne residents and therefore cannot vote in the Mayoral Election. When I read your blogs, I have this image of you as being a bored teenager sitting at home on his computer with nothing better to do. You never make any sense and you present yourself as having no morals. Wow, apparently any idiot can have his own website.
This is to Angry White Boy - I'm sorry to have to use this blog but I can't use his. You have to "reveal" yourself and I don't trust him, he seems way too.......angry. Remember accusing Someone in Nelson's camp of power voting for him? Nelson's numbers haven't changed since 11:00 last night. (Around there) Mr. Kelty's have gone up 630 votes. Now, please, be fair. Who is the real cheater here? Mr. Kelty has a bunch of kids working for him and they either don't realize or they don't care that this is playing unfair. You have to surround yourself with good people and he didn't. I think you should change your blog heading Mr. Angry White Boy. Kelty's people are the cheaters.
