I am sure that most of you have heard of "Portgate." Apparently our government has decided to let The United Arab Emirates handle port security for six large American ports.

The Bush administration has come out and supported the idea.

What on Earth is our government thinking. How can we let an Arab Country handle port security when Bush is at the same time prosecuting the war on terror?

I do not get it.

Do any of you understand it?

There are a couple of good places where you can get this story!

So what are you saying? All Arabs are terrorists?

LP Mike Sylvester said...

No, I do NOT think all Arabs are terrorists.

That being said, the US government has taken over airport security (Which I think was a mistake)and other functions that it feels are "critical."

How on Earth can they outsource our Port Security to a foreign company? It does not make sense to me.

Many security companies are foriegn owned. Very often a foriegn company will be contracted to provide security for, say, a US defence contractor. All the employees who are assigned to that contract are loyal Americans who have obtained security clearances. This should work out ok as long as this UAE company hires locally.
