He has been trying very hard to portray himself as a caring person who is out for the "little guy." I am surprised that the Obama Campaign did not pay Anthony for helping the Campaign as much as he has. This is a mistake that will cost Obama a few votes.

Obama may have a lot of friends on myspace, but I have a feeling many of those people are either too young, too apathetic, or too lazy to actually get out and vote.
Just a thought.
My guess is "The Messiah" is just beginning to make mistakes. The school of hard knocks is just about upon him.
Perhaps they could've handled the situation better but there's no reason they should've paid the guy what he was asking - not even close...
The guy was a cybersquatter! Legally, all Myspace pages belong to Myspace.com, so cybersquatting doesn't work on that site. By asking for that huge amount of money, you could tell he was trying to grift the Obama campaign. If the guy sincerely wanted compensation for his efforts, he should have asked for it before he did the work. It would be like if I mowed your lawn without telling you, then demanded $100 for 30 minutes of work.
Maybe he could do a page for the Edwards campaign.
Robert:
You bring up a good point; I know nothing about Myspace...
Mike Sylvester
Robert,
There wasn't an official campaign when he started so there really wasn't anyone to ask.
Personally, I don't think the guy deserved a penny for setting up a page w/ Obama's name. If they wanted to give him a job running the site then so be it, but he was in fact a cybersquatter and didn't deserve the amount he was asking...
To All,
After reading the article I have come to the conclusion that at least some of Mr. Obama's staff are complete idiots!
Here is a guy who has dedicated time and energy for OVER 2 YEARS to helping Mr. Obama. This was WAY before he was in the running. He took good care of the site and from what I can make out did absolutely nothing to embarrass the Obama campaign.
Now to my point. Instead of taking this great asset (Mr. Anthony) and integrating him with the campaign they have to act like complete jackasses and push him to the side like some cheap groupie.
Mr. Obama is already in trouble if he is surrounded by such incompetent wastrels.
Good Grief...
Respectfully,
Doug Horner
PS - For the record I have liked Mr. Obama ever since I learned he was a smoker. Gotta give the guy something for being such a rebel in these modern times :)
I see your point, Doug. I agree that the Obama campiagn may have handled this foolishly, but I still think that it is ultimately up to them on what to do with the page.
Also, Obama has quit smoking to my understanding.
