ANOTHER example of why government does NOT work...

Recently the GAO (Government Accountability Office) decided to test the massive TSA (Transportation Security Agency) airport security system. This security system has created a lot of delays in an effort to make America "safe."

The GAO was able to smuggle bomb making materials onto 21 different planes. They were never caught by the TSA screeners.

We spent over 2.5 BILLION dollars on the TSA each year, and they did not succeed one single time...

Talk about a wasteful and inefficient government program...

What is the world coming to?

Our government cannot even oversee an agency that they keep telling us is vital to our security.

Lets hope that the voters wake up and vote for a lot of new officials...

Just curious, Mike ... is the wastefulness and inefficiency your only -- or your primary -- objection to the TSA regime?

Or, to ask the question in a different way: if the TSA folks had caught each and every one of the GAO "tests," would the TSA be an acceptable thing to you?

That is a great question Bartleby...

No it is not my only objection...

I would say it is most likely my largest objection.

I think the TSA has gone way too far. The "Do not fly list" is a complete joke and is government bungling at its finest...

I also have privacy concerns...

When I flew to Bangor, Maine a year ago, I had no problem. When I went to check in to return to Fort Wayne, my name was on the TSA list. It took over 30 minutes to get me cleared to fly from Bangor, Maine to Fort Wayne just five days later.

It had good intentions, but I have seen better security at the company I worked for in Lynchburg, VA.

In my opinion, they did not evaluate the problem. They created an "Objective" list and went from there. The objective list is a good sound bite, but meaningless. In simple terms they did not solve the problem and at worst has masked it.
