The newest Republican tax in Indiana

Do you remember back when The Republicans wanted to cut spending and taxes?

Tomorrow the new fireworks tax takes effect in Indiana. We now have to pay a 5% tax ON TOP OF THE SALES TAX.

This new tax was implemented by a Republican Indiana House, a Republican Indiana Senate, and a Republican Governor.

This tax has been called a "public safety fee."

Who do they think they are fooling?

This is no different than the governor's recent proposal to add a tax to cigarettes. The taxes on both of these items are not high enough to actually cause the purchaser to change his behavior. They are strictly designed to generate more revenue.

Tax & spend Republicans.

I agree Mike. The only difference is this tax was passed by The General Assembly.

Mitch Daniel's other two proposed tax increases (Additional 1% income tax on all families making over 100,000 dollars a year and an additional tax on cigarettes)did not become law...

Should we dress up like Indians and dump some fireworks into the harbor?
