Parking space is a scarce commodity downtown. The more desirable a parking space is, the more the owner of that space can charge for it.Robert Endershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15592475828737641009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11887973.post-50455493418245271052008-08-13T23:12:00.000-04:002008-08-13T23:12:00.000-04:00Three things 1. you can hire three people at minim...Three things

1. you can hire three people at minimum wage to go riding around on the FWPD or Commissioner Brown's segway just to go around and collect the money

2. The office workers in the City County Building (Recorders office) who clock in at 8 but dont start working til 9:30- 10 can do their socializing in groups of two to four by walking around the City dumping coinage in the buckets.

3. My favorite is to eliminate on street parking fees all together I pretty sure Chicago would be willing to buy them @ a discount for use rate.F6's Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00245610947948998790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11887973.post-11145445842005591142008-08-13T22:22:00.000-04:002008-08-13T22:22:00.000-04:00Fozy,Am I reading this right? How would the city collect meter fees if you eliminate Parking Enforcement?Robert Endershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15592475828737641009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11887973.post-87097208433777120362008-08-07T01:35:00.000-04:002008-08-07T01:35:00.000-04:00No I want the parking fees to be universal if the ...No I want the parking fees to be universal if the City is declaring these lots as public parking and promoting them. Also I dont want them to destroy a lot that people depend on to access City Government.

In addition we also dont need the City to be building more restaurants and offering tax abatement as the first line of commerce and incentive. Second I want the City to do away with all parking fees downtown period and further cut back the City budget by removing Parking Enforcement, it is unnecessary and boarish.

By stipulating that the fees are universal or flat and no longer free nights and weekends that would automatically add generate jobs to cover those hours. The fee needs to be established at 1-2 quarters per hour, period. If it good enough for street parking it will be good enough for a parking lot labeled as Public Parking.

But wait if I paid for the parking lot as a taxpayer then I shouldnt have to pay to park there either.F6's Editorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00245610947948998790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11887973.post-74963823776539657322008-08-06T14:29:00.000-04:002008-08-06T14:29:00.000-04:00So, as a Libertarian, you WANT the city to control...So, as a Libertarian, you WANT the city to control the pricing at PRIVATELY owned parking lots????Kevin Knuthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08088666302706577051noreply@blogger.com
